Environmental Shots: 

I really like these picture because I love musicians. These photographs show these people's passion for music that i share with them. I chose the flute photo because I am a flute player and it really resonates with me. I chose the violin photograph because I love street musician because they're really talented and they always amaze me.











Self portraits:

I picked both of these portraits because they both are dark but ten have a pop of light or color. I really like the photo above because he is hold up his hands as if he were setting a picture. Since he's a photographer, the portrait conveys a part of him. I really like the photo on the right because as the paintbrush moves across his face, color is left in it's path. This may convey that he's an artist and painting is what "adds color to his life." Both of the portraits say something about the subject and thats what I really enjoy about them.


Photo Shoot:

I plan on shooting my friend Victoria because she is very photogenic and she will be very willing to do what I ask her. I plan on visiting Zilker Park and the botanical garden there. Taking Photos in nature is something that will look and be great. I plan on taking picture at different levels to catch more of a variety throughout the photos. I want to take pictures of her spinning on the green at Zilker on a low shutter speed so I can see the motion.  I plan taking a list of the rules of photography so I refer to them throughout the shoot. I hope this will be beneficial in taking the maximum quality pictures I can take on this shoot. I also plan to adjust the shutter speed and ISO to see what kinds of different photos I can take while on the shoot.

The pupil of the eye.

The smaller the aperture the sees amount of light let into the lens, the higher the aperture the more amount of light let into the lens.
3. In your own words tell me how aperture impacts Depth of Field?
The depth of field is affected by the aperture by determining which objects in the picture will be in focus and how much in focus they will be in. The smaller the aperture the more all objects will be in focus. the larger the aperture, the less the objects background will be and the more focused the objects in the foreground will be.

Shutter Speed:
1. What are the advantages of shoot at a higher ISO at a sporting event like basketball or a night football game?

the advantages are that you can more usable photos because higher ISO photographs are taken quicker. Also because of the low amount of light a higher ISO will give you a better quality photograph all together.

2. What suggestions did the author make about using a low ISO?

You want to use the lowest ISO when you have plenty of light so you can get the Highest quality of picture. 

3. What suggestions did the author make about using a high ISO?

When there isn't enough light or you want to get cash shot you use a high ISO.

Manual: The camera automatically set the shutter speed and aperture for you. 
Aperture priority: You set the aperture and then the camera sets the shutter speed for you.
Shutter Priority: You set the shutter speed and then the aperture is set automatically.

Love and Loss

1. What emotions did you feel as you worked your way through these images?
As I first started going through the photos, I felt uncertainness because I didn't know what the picture were going to be but soon after, I found out. Then I knew what these photos were about and I felt sorrow and depression from looking at the picture of this poor woman slowly deteriorating. After going through the photos, I had a feeling of loss but at the same tim happiness.

2. The photographer said this: "These photographs do not define us, but they are us." What do you think about this comment now that you have looked at the photos?
I think it's so true and so inspiring to people going through the same thing. A lot of people who have loved ones with cancer soon only think about the disease and not giving their loved one the best life they can get. This quote shows that the cancer didn't effect how they loved each other but it did capture their last experiences together.

3. Do you think you could shoot photos like this if you were in this situation?
No. I wouldn't because i could never get myself to look at them. Losing a loved on is not something I've gone through left but I don't think I will handle it very well so I  wouldn't want to document it.

4. If you could write Angelo a letter, what would you say to him?
I would tell him how amazing and inspiring to me. His emotional strength has allowed him to capture his love and loss in a beautiful array of photos. He has inspired me to be stronger through the hard times in my life and love with all of my heart.

Abandoned Theme Parks

1. Tell me which amusement park featured in the two articles that you would like to visit and take your camera along and what about that park made you want to go there. Write at least a paragraph.

If I could visit a amusement park in these articles I would choose the one in Prypiat, ukraine because it seem the most mysterious. I've always though Chernobyl was so interesting so seeing the amusement park that was effected by it would be zoo cool. It also seems kind of dangerous because of the nuclear levels that are still up there. The fact that people can only be in the town for a few hours at a time would give a thrill to be there.  Also, since the town was evacuated I think it would be awesome to see how the amusement park was left.

2. Post one photo from that park. You may use 
the photos from the link, or you can google an entirely new photo. I would prefer to see a photo of the park in disrepair and not a photo of it when it was still operating.

3. Think of at least FIVE other unusual places you think would be of interest to photographers. List them.

4. Use google or another search engine to research ONE of your five places and see if anyone has already started documenting that place. If you find that someone has already started - post at least one photo of their work.

Devil's Bridge

5. Write a paragraph about why you think that it would be fun to document that location. Tell me what interests you about that place and what kind of photos you could expect to take there.
This location is magnificent and it also makes a great photo shoot opportunity. The bridge and it's reflection on the water make a perfect circle so it's really interesting to look at. What else interests me is that during the spring, the trees bloom with flowers so the beige looks like a paradise. I would like to take seasonal photos of this place throughout the year to show how much it changes. I would also like to take pictures of the bridge closer up and the rock sticking out of the water. These close up picture would catch the detail of these pieces. 
6. Tell me what it would take for you to go and take photos at your location. What would you need as far as equipment goes, travel plans, expenses you might encounter and what laws you would have to take into consideration to take photos at your spot.
I would need a macro, distance, and basic lens along with a Cannon 60D camera. The plane ticket for the trip, and probably money to see the bridge, pay for food and hotels would also be a must. I would need to make sure not to disturb the peace of nature while taking my photographs and also make sure to be courteous to people at the bridge. 

Africa

1. On your blog post your reactions to what you read and what you saw. How about 3-4 sentences.

A. I am just amazed with brandy's passion for all of these animals and for what he does. He has so much dedications he's willing to wait for days to get one photo. He also doesn't just photograph the animals, he has an emotional attachment and he cares about their well being. The purity and clarity of all the photos are amazing. The balance of a lot of the picture is great and is just naturally there. 

2. Do a google image search for Nick Brandt, find your favorite photo and post it on your blog.

3. Describe it and tell me why its your favorite.The photo shows a lion mother and her cub looking off into the rocky and dry plain of Africa. I really like it because of the view of the landscape in the background. The amount of substance in this photograph is remarkable. 

4. What rules of photography are evident in the photos you selected, be sure to explain the rule to me?The rule of third is evident because of the placement of the lioness and her cub. Balance is in this picture because of the offset placement of the background and the placement of the lions on different side so the photograph looks nice, even, and balanced.

5. What kind of camera and lens does he use and why is this important?He uses a Pentax 67II with only two fixed lenses. He uses these because it makes him get close to the animals when photographs them. He believes it "make a huge difference in his ability to reveal their personality."
6. What is his reason for taking these photos?
He wants to take them animals photos because he wants to catch them in their state of being before they aren't any more. He know that soon these animals will be extinct and he want to show people that animals have an equal right to live just as humans do. 
7. What is his hope by taking these type of photos?
To reveal how much of a story these animals have so people will hopefully help to stop the poaching in africa to help these animals.
