Yearbook Introduction
Things that should be in every yearbook:
1. A theme on the front of the yearbook
2. The school name on the intro page.
3. Quotes from students
4. Interesting Headlines
5. well taken photos.
6. Minimal texted stories and captions
7. The theme should carry throughout the whole yearbook.
8. Yearbooks should be organized into sections based on categories
9. Clear table of contents
10. minimal amount of posed pictures
11. include each student at least once in the yearbook beside their photo.
12. change up layout of pages and try not to repeat the layouts
13. have students pose the same way in their formal pictures to keep uniformity.
14. devote different pages to different departments of the school
15. Have a color scheme and break it up so it is evenly distributed throughout the book.
16. use different fonts sparingly
17. index in the back showing which pages each student is on
18. year book was made
19. the volume # of the book
20. address of the school
21. phone number of the school
22. senior ads to fundraise the book
23. Commercial ads

Magazine Cover: Peer Review
1. What is the name of the magazine that you looked at and who made it?
The magazine is called"Dance" and it is by Elisa Perez from period 4.
2. List two things you liked about the magazine cover
I love picture and how she got her subject still without a blur and the quality of the shot is great. I also like how the text wraps around the model's body because it emphasizes the importance of the dancer.
3. Suggest something to the creator to improve the cover
I would suggest to make the title white instead of black because right now you can't really read what the title says. I think think white would pop a little more to get the reader's attention.
4. Why did you pick this cover? Specifically what attracted your eyes.
The dancer. I've always been a fan of dancer portraits because they look really graceful when they a frozen in a photograph.
5. Is there a bar code?
Yes there is a bar code.
6. Did that make it more "magazine-like"?
The barcode did help it look more like a magazine because it looks like a real barcode you would find on a magazine anywhere as opposed to one that is cut in half like the other cover I saw.
7. Can you tell if it was a portrait or self-portrait?
I think it is a portrait because the camera is too high to be sitting on a ti pod and the girl in the photo is not the girl who posted the magazine. One of the header talks about an interview with Olivia Warren so I think the dancer's name is Olivia.

Step 3: Which photo do you like best? Why?
1. I like her 'connected' photo the best because of the angle that the photo is taken at. It really capture the connection between the two people better than if she would have take the photo from the front.
Step 4: Which is your least favorite image? Why?
2. My least favorite photo was the pose photograph. I don't think the photo was very thought out and maybe it was because the prompts were hard and they were looking for pictures, or maybe they needed one last picture and had no time left but the photo is a bit unorganized and not very well thought out like her other photos.
Step 5: Overall, make two positive statements about their pictures.
3. I really think she did a very good job on the quality of the photos shutter speed and exposure wise. I think they also did a very good job with the levels aspect of editing their photo because the colors are vibrant.
Step 6: Overall, what is one area that this person could improve upon in your opinion.
4. the person could improve on the creativity standpoint of her photography. I looked on other blogs and saw photos of the same iron grate and the same photo of two people holding hands for connected. The pictures are good quality but they could use some more creativity.

Spiral Staircases

The article talks about a man named Christian Richter who goes around Europe looking for intricated spiral staircases and takes photographs of them. He focuses on the texture and patterns of the staircase and often processes then through Lightroom and Photoshop.

b. What rules of photography do you see in the photo?

a. I code this picture because I think Richter did a great job on finding the texture of this staircase. This also is a kind of rustic staircase which I love.

this is photographer named Rachel Sussman that goes around the world and take photographs of living organisms that are 2,000 years and older. She hopes to capture the age in the portraits of these organisms in the process.

a. I picked this photo because it has connection to me. My marching band show is called if a tree falls and for our props we had birch trees coming from our uniforms. It kind of reminded me of my marching show.
b. leading lines, there are lines coming from the branches on the ground leading in the depths of the forest. balance is also present making the photo seem relaxed as if each tree was strategically placed there.

This website gave me a few tips on portrait shooting and how I can make my portraits better and more interesting. It takes about breaking certain rules, Bringing people out of their comfort zone or into it, and even how to release some of the tension of the models I photograph.

a. This photo is just plain interesting and is kind of funny. It caught my eye when I was going through the website because it's random but intriguing. It also show the whole "getting people of their comfort zone" idea that the article talks about.
b. rule of thirds is present by the subject being off center in the photo. cropping is present by cropping out the man's head to focus more on the berry on his nose rather than his head.
